PolarPro confirms it’s Inspire 1/X3 filters are compatible with DJI’s Zenmuse Z3 gimbal camera.
DJI’s first integrated aerial zoom gimbal camera, the Zenmuse Z3 is based on the Zenmuse X3 platform, and boasts the same Sony 1/2.3 inch sensor used on the Inspire 1/X3 and Phantom 4. The Z3 offers a 7X zoom, consisting of a 3.5 optical and 2x digital lossless zoom, creating a 22mm to 77mm equivalent focal length range. With the ability to zoom in the air, the Z3 creates new opportunities for the enhancement of commercial and industrial applications, and can be used with the Inspire 1, Matrice 100 or Matrice 600 platforms. This makes the Z3 ideal for applications like agricultural inspections and land surveys, or for the inspection of industrial equipment like wind turbines and telephone lines, without having to fly dangerously close in order to capture a detailed image.

With the highest refractive index in the PolarPro filter line, the Cinema Series filters are catered to industry professionals. These hybrid filters will provide a clearer image than the alternative of stacking a ND and polarizing filter, and are light enough that they do not inhibit the performance of the Z3 gimbal, requiring no counter balance. While the neutral density filters allow greater control over the camera’s shutter speed, the polarizing aspect of these hybrid filters reduces harsh glare from direct reflections when flying over water, snow, desert, or other reflective landscapes, while adding contrast and improving color saturation.
In addition to the Cinema Series Collection, PolarPro offers a graduated neutral density filter pack. This pack includes a graduated ND8 filter, and blue and orange graduated filters, designed to increase the camera’s dynamic range and correctly expose scenes in difficult lighting. These filters are especially useful in shooting sunsets and sunrises, where the graduated aspect of the filters aide in balancing exposure above and below the horizon. The orange filter will add warmth to the sky while maintaining the hue of the ground, and the blue filter will cool down the sky while maintaining the hue of the ground.
